Email Alerts & Notifications
Never miss a website issue with MerySpeak's instant email alerts. Get notified the moment your site goes down, when it recovers, and receive weekly summaries of your website's performance.
How Alerts Work
MerySpeak's notification system keeps you informed about your website's status without requiring you to constantly check the dashboard. When something happens that needs your attention, we send an email immediately so you can respond quickly.
Our alert system is designed to be informative without being overwhelming. You'll receive alerts for significant events, not for every single check. This means one email when your site goes down, and one when it comes back up - not a flood of messages for the same incident.
Alert Types
Downtime Alerts
Instant notification when your website becomes unreachable or returns an error.
Recovery Alerts
Notification when your site comes back online, including outage duration.
SSL Expiry Warnings
Alerts 14 days before your SSL certificate expires (Pro feature).

Monday morning summary of uptime, incidents, and performance trends.

Weekly Digest Report
Every Monday morning, MerySpeak sends a digest email summarizing your websites' performance over the past week. This includes:
- Overall uptime: Percentage across all monitored sites
- Incident summary: Number of downtime events per site
- Total downtime: Combined minutes of unavailability
- Performance trends: Response time changes week-over-week
- SSL status: Certificates expiring soon (Pro)
The weekly digest helps you stay informed about your sites' health without needing to log in daily. It's especially useful for teams that want a regular check-in on monitoring status.
Configuring Notifications
You can customize your notification preferences in your account settings. Navigate to your profile and adjust:
-
Email Notifications Toggle
Enable or disable all email alerts. When disabled, you'll still see incidents in your dashboard but won't receive emails.
-
Weekly Digest Toggle
Choose whether to receive the Monday morning summary email. Useful to disable if you prefer checking the dashboard directly.
We recommend keeping downtime alerts enabled even if you disable the weekly digest. Immediate notification of outages is crucial for maintaining uptime and minimizing the impact on your users.

Forward MerySpeak alerts to your on-call rotation's email or integrate with PagerDuty/Opsgenie via email. Ensure the right person is always notified during incidents.
Use a shared email alias or distribution list so the entire team receives alerts. Everyone stays informed about incidents without relying on one person to relay information.
Forward weekly digests to stakeholders who need visibility into uptime metrics without dashboard access. Perfect for non-technical executives who want regular updates.
Archive alert emails as documentation of incidents and response times. Email records provide an audit trail for compliance requirements.

You can configure which alerts you receive in your settings.
Can I disable email notifications?
Yes, you can enable or disable email notifications in your account preferences. You can independently control downtime alerts and weekly digest reports. We recommend keeping downtime alerts enabled so you're always informed of issues, but you can customize based on your needs.
